About Yogita
Namaste, I am Yogita.
Yoga has been part of my life from an early age. Growing up in Chennai, I watched my grandmother and brother practise yoga every day. Their discipline and the sense of calm they brought to their practice sparked my own curiosity about yoga.
I studied Arts at the University of Madras and am a Certified Yoga Instructor. I have more than five years of teaching experience and maintain a consistent personal practice.
I am deeply thankful to my first guru for introducing me to authentic yoga and for teaching with wisdom, kindness and inclusiveness. Those values continue to shape the way I understand and teach yoga today.
My experience with yoga has also encouraged me to introduce the practice to close family members and friends. Several of them have continued practising for years and have found yoga a valuable part of their lives.
My teaching style goes beyond developing body awareness, strength and flexibility. I place particular emphasis on coordinating the breath with movement and stretching, while also introducing techniques that encourage relaxation of both body and mind.
Yoga and meditation have been deeply rejuvenating for me and have changed the way I approach everyday life. They have taught me the importance of health and inner peace, and helped me understand what it means to live with greater balance and harmony. Through LearnYoga.net, I hope to share this age-old practice of yoga and meditation with others in a clear, practical and welcoming way.
Away from the mat, I love reading books and telling stories. Perhaps that is also why I enjoy teaching: every practice has its own story and every person arrives at yoga from a different place.
Whether you are stepping onto a yoga mat for the first time or returning to your practice, you are welcome here.
Bring your mat and let us get started. Namaste.
